Once a person decides that they will be filing bankruptcy it is import that they get all there affairs in order. There will be a trustee asking you question that you will more then likely find intrusive but it will be permissible. From this point on you will have to make drastic changes in your life. Below I have listed some of the thing that I consider the do’s and don’t when you file for bankruptcy.
1.Don’t continue using your credit cards.
2.Be completely honest and do not try to hide assets.
3.Don’t transfer property while bankruptcy is going on.
4.Don’t sell off assets
5.Don’t pay relatives without running it by trustee.
6.Get a proper inventory of assets.
7.Make sure your lawyer runs a credit check before filing to see if you missed anything.
8.Make the effort to reorganize your finances so you won’t find yourself in this situation again.
9.Make sure everything is un order with the schedules you file. Ask your lawyer for a copy.
10.Ask your lawyer or a friend to help you with a practice run.
11.Be conscious of what you are wearing at the 341 meeting.
12.Make sure you make arrangements if you don’t speak the language. Let the court know.
13.Make sure you give the trustee what they are asking for.
14.Respond to trustee request as soon as possible.
